Mobile data: Industry trends & relevant use cases

16:30 - 17:00

Over the last two years the world of mobile data has changed dramatically. Pings and actual visitor counts continue to diminish, for a number of reasons including a heightened sense of awareness and fear from the general public. This fear is stoked not only by the media but also through attack ads from phone manufacturers. Policy makers in response to heightened public awareness of location enabled data, have reacted by introducing new legislation that must strike a balance between supporting several ‘data for good’ uses cases as well as protecting the rights of citizens.

In this environment, while actual data quality from SDK aggregators continues to diminish, vendors continue to sell mobile data ‘by the pound’ and promise the world. As Location Intelligence providers we should be aware of how these challenges can be addressed through sound methodology, applicable use cases and relevant and accurate reporting within a geospatial framework.

See how Environics Analytics utilizes Snowflake to combine mobile data from 5 different sources on a daily basis and serve them up via API or our platform to our customers.
